Since I had an irregular screening for trisomy 18 and 13 we had to get another level II ultrasound with the geneticist today. We weren't that worrid about anything being wrong this time because we were put at a less than 1% chance at our 16 week level II. We went in and the tech measured what felt like every bone in her body. It was a little drawn out because I was getting really uncomfortable and we weren't seeing the cute traditional ultrasound pictures, it was zoomed in on her head, heart, bones, etc. The doctor was really nice today. At my 16 week ultrasound with her she was pretty uptight and stern. When she came in she was trying to get the baby to move by pressing the wand into my belly. The baby ended up kicking herself in the arm, which was cute. We got some pictures of her and were told that she weighs a pound now! She's breeched but that's not a problem since I'm not close to my due date yet. I'm sure she moves around alot. I'm surprised she wasn't head down like she always is. Anyway, everything looked great with her. Thank God!
I had an appointment with my OBs CNP after that. All went well. The baby's heartbeat went from 153 at the ultrasound to 155 with the dopler so that's good. She told me that I should gain between 25 and 30 pounds! I wanted to die. That seems like so much weight. I would do anything for my daughter so it's of course worth it but I'm not looking forward to it.
